In 1964 TAA acquired six new Boeing
727s-100s, its first pure jets. Seen above in this
shot from the Maurice Austin collection is the first one, "James Cook" at Essendon in 1964.

Airport. The shot at the foot of the page, by Greg Banfield,
shows it in the revised
"TAA T-Jet"
livery, taken at Mascot in September 1966. It was acquired
by International
Air Leases in
1976 as
N91891 and leased to Air
Florida in the 1970s as N40AF.
