VH-TGF de Havilland DHC-6-300 Twin Otter
(c/n 270)
Built in December 1969 as N93995 for a broker, Air Capital
International, this Twin Otter
was immediately sold off to TAA as VH-TGF for operation in New
Guinea. When disposed
of in 1975 by the airline it went to the N.T. Air Medical
Service. In 1980 it was
being
operated by Bush Pilots Airways, and in 1982 sold off to Air
Queensland. Danny Tanner's
shot above
was taken at Rockhampton in July 1986.
In July 1999 it was reregistered
VH-UQR, and in 2002 sold to Orion Aviation in New Hampshire as N270CM.
It was
then updated to a Series 400 by Viking Air in Sidney, NC and sold in
the Maldives becoming
8Q-TMR for Trans Maldivian
Airways. I believe it is still
current. Go forever, don't they,
Twin Otters?
