VH-SFI Beech 23 Musketeer
(c/n M-306)
. This new Musketeer was first registered on 10 August 1965 to M. S.
Sidebottom of Shepparton,
Victoria, and had other owners before coming to a spectacular end at
Phillip Island, Victoria on
19
February 1969. The pilot overshot his landing and ran
off the end of the strip, struck a fence
and
went over the edge of a cliff, gliding down into the sea. The aircraft
then drifted to shore where
it
was pounded on rocks before it could be
salvaged. Geoff Goodall's shot above was
taken at
Bendigo,
Victoria in December 1966
