VH-RVI (2) de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth
(c/n DHA807)
Photograph taken on the day the aircraft was
ferried in from the RAAF MU, on 21st or
22nd of August, 1957. Barrie Colledge advises that it
was not actually registered VH-RVI
until August 1958. Presumably pressure of other work stalled its
entry into the fleet. (Maybe
a
poor choice of words, there!). Below is a nice image by Bob
Neate (via Geoff Goodall)
taken in
1964. The red fin forward of the stripes was not a RVIC
standard (at least during
"my day"). A
contemporary shot of it (looking almost the same) can be found at:

Despie a crash in Ballarat in 1973 (restored in '76) this Tiger is
still currently registered
(2017). Oddly, CASA describes it c/n as DX750 which was to
have been its original RAF
serial.
