VH-REX
(3) Cessna 310D
(c/n 39039)
There have been many VH-REXs., this being the
primo registration for Australia's main Cessna
dealer, Rex Aviation of Bankstown.
This is the second Cessna 310 to wear this identity, and
had been flown in from the US across the
Pacific. It was formerly N6739T and registered in
Australia in September 1960 as a Rex
demonstrator. The Ray Deerness' shot above, taken at
Bankstown in 1960, although not terribly sharp, is somewhat rare
inasmuch as the aircraft was
re-registered VH-ATB in March 1961 when sold to Queensland Air
Ambulance Transport
Board and based in Cairns. In 1967, when sold off, it
became VH-BTP.
