VH-RDF Cessna
172B Skyhawk
(c/n 48231)
This, the 'B' Model 172 was the first
to be officially labeled Skyhawk. However, it wasn't until
the
'D' Model that the Cessna c/n included
the '172' prefix, even though Australia's CASA retroactively
adds the
'172' to the c/n in its data base.. . When Geoff
Goodall took the above shot at Wongan
Hills, WA in November 1975, this early
machine was still in its factory paint scheme, although it had
been imported some 14 years earlier by
Rex Aviation at Bankstown in June 1961. Needless to say
it
has had many owners since then, and is still current, being registered
today to a company in Derby,
Western Australia.
