VH-RAT (2) Cessna 180C Skywagon
(c/n
50826)
This is the second Cessna 180 to bear the
registration VH-RAT. The first was a Cessna 180
(c/n
31123), ex N3625C. That one was re-registered VH-RBA in 1960. The three
shots on
this page of c/n 50826 were
all taken at Parafield by
Geoff Goodall. Seen above is the aircraft
in August 1963 after
being fitted with the seeder under the
fuselage, while the image immediately
below was taken a year earlier
and shows the pristine craft as
it was first delivered. Finally, at
the bottom of the page
is a shot of it in December of 1963
wearing the dreadful all white scheme
applied after Aerial Agriculture
of Sydney bought out Robby's and Super
Spread but kept them
operating under their own names
for some years. An attempt was made to to standardise all
three
fleets with
white paint jobs. VH-RAT/2 was first registered in Australia (it
was formerly N9336T)
in May 1961 as VH-RGN. It
was written off in a crash at Woleebee, Qld in January 1970.
