VH-PLE Cessna P206 Super Skylane
(c/n 0146)
Cessna dubbed the P206 the
Super
Skylane and the “P” stood for “people”. It was intro-
duced in 1965 (when -PLE was registered)
and
was basically a U206 (the Utility version)
with two main doors and a
port side rear door, but no cargo door. In the shot
above, from
Geoff Goodall's collection, it was eight years old when seen at
Jandakot in February 1973
and operated by Aerial Photographs and
Surveys Pty Ltd of Perth. It is still current and
Ian McDonell took the photo below at Toowoomba in May 2009 when it
was being used as
a skydiving
platform.
