VH-PKN Cessna 172F Skyhawk
(c/n 17253149)
VH-PKN was
first registered to Rex Aviation at Bankstown as a new stock machine in
August 1965.
When
photographed above in May 1967 it was at Jerilderie, NSW, in from
neighboring Cootamundra,
NSW where it was
based by owners Masling Aviation. By October 1969 it had
crossed the continent
(below) and was at Perth's Jandakot airport, being
owned at the time by Southern Cross Aviation, and.
was entrant # 19 in
that year's annual WA air trials. It is back in the east
nowadays, though, and is
owned by a company in
Broadwater, NSW. Above and below photos via Geoff Goodall.
Finally, at
the foot of the
page is a shot by Clive Lynch at Merimbula in 2004 showing -PKN as the
winner of
'The Ugliest Paint
Job' award (well, it would have been, if there were such a
contest). What were
they thinking of?
