VH-PET Mooney M.20C Mark
21
(c/n 2690)
One of the rarely seen and
photographed Australian Mooneys, VH-PET has spent much of its
life in
the remote western Riverina region of NSW.
Originally N1906Y, it was registered in
Australia in
March 1964. In 1976 it was owned by grazier Archer Smith,
who kept it at the
airstrip on
Norwood Station, 50 miles north-west of Hay. David Carter saw it
making a visit
to Griffith in
1977. In October 2016 VH-PET was owned by another grazier
from the same
region, Gordon
Turner, of Brassbutt Station.
