VH-PCI de Havilland
D.H.82A Tiger Moth
(c/n 83123/T.140)
VH-PCI
was a UK-built Tiger shipped out to Australia from RAF stock, serialed
R5264, an identity
it retained with the RAAF during WW
II. It was civilianized in 1947 as VH-BCB. When Air Agri-
cultural Control purchased it in
1955 as a cropduster it became VH-PCI. Geoff Goodall Took
the
above shot at
Beverley, WA in November 1980, after its farm duties were done.
Somewhere along
the way it acquired a canopy. It
is still current in West Australia and registered to a private
owner.
Geoff's shot (below) taken at Wongan Hills aerodrome Nov 1975 shows it
in a much more striking
red & black paint scheme.
