VH-MPK Callair A-9A
Quail
(c/n 1190)
Imported in September 1965 and
sold to Queensland Airplanters Pty Ltd of Bundaberg, where this
shot, by Arthur Perkins, was taken in November 1966. On 19
March 1967 while spraying brigalow
scrub at Don River, 15 miles north of Baralaba, Qld the aircraft
stalled in a low turn and struck the
ground, starboard wing down. This demolished the
undercarriage when the aircraft slid to a stop.
The
pilot was unhurt and managed to escape the wreckage before it was
consumed by fire.
