VH-MKH Cessna U206D Super
Skywagon
(c/n U206-1418)
David Carter managed to catch VH-MKH as it was being assembled at Rex
Aviation’s
Bankstown hangar for deliveyr to Macair in Papua New Guinea in May
1970. A week
later it was gone.
In 1971 Macair was taken over by Talair and –MKH was still
with
that airline
when it was transferred to the new PNG register in May 1974 as P2-MKH.
Talair
decided to reregister its single-engine fleet in the P2-SE* block and
–MKH became
–SEK in April 1976. It suffered damage at Yugepa
on March 20, 1980 and spent the
next eight
months off the register recuperating. The
hard-working 206 was sold to
Trans Nuigini as
P2-TNK in 1993 and then went to Pacair of Goroka as P2-IDK in 1996.
It was later
withdrawn from use, date unknown.
