The Kingsford Smith Flying School subsidiary of KSFS was formed out of
J.T. Brown's Austerserve
at
Bankstown. In 1961 they decided to update the fleet
(hitherto Austers and Chipmunks) to include
five Piper Colts and a Tri-Pacer in 1961.
Seen above is one of the Colts at Bankstown in 1962.

been modified into a tail-dragger and
fitted with new, square, wing tips as
seen in the contemporary shot below by George Canciani taken at
Parafield in March 2007.
