VH-KAF (1) Auster J/2 Arrow
(c/n 2388)
This was the Arrow which was to have gone to
Belgium as OO-AXG but went instead to Kingsford
Smith Aviation
at Bankstown in 1951 as VH-KAF. It was later sold to the the
Aero Club
of South-
ern
Tasmania in 1954, and in 1957 it was sold "up north;' to the
Tasmanian Aero Club who re-registered
it VH-KAC. These three (long
distance) shots are from the Richard Rudd collection. Above -KAF
is
seen departing Pedder Beach in the early 1950s, while the image at the
foot of the page shows the line up
Aero Club
of So. Tasmania aircraft
on the that beach on this occasion. VH-KAF is at the end
of the
line,
while the red Arrow is VH-KAM. The in
flight shot below with VH-KAM was taken from one
of the club's
Tiger Moths.
