VH-FSD Cessna 180B
(c/n 50381)
This 180 was wearing a very
nice, although a totally non standard Cessna, livery when this shot,
by Peter Reardon
(who flew the aircraft ) was taken at Glen Innes in 1964.
A late import for
Dutton's Aerial Sowing of Canowindra, NSW, it was first registered on
30 September 1963.
Sutton's also maintained a base at Glen Innes for agricultural work in
the New England district.
Early in
1967 it was acquired by an agricultural operator in Western Australia
and Merv Prime
saw it at Jandakot (immediately
below) in March of that year. Livery unchanged. -FSD didn't
last long out
west and is seen wrecked at East Chittering, WA on 20 April 1968 in the
image at
the foot of the page from the Geoff Goodall collection. . It ran
down an embankment at the side
of an ag strip
and the fuselage was torn in two. Veteran WA aerial
ag pilot Max Taylor escaped
unhurt.
The rear section of this 180 was seen at different locations around WA
for the next few years
