VH-FRS  Cessna 172F Skyhawk                  (c/n  53306)

                                                                                                               
                                           The above photo, by Dave Thollar, was taken at Archerfield in February 1967.  Imported from
                                           the US as N5670R, this Skyhawk was first registered in Australia in November 1965 and was
                                           to have been VH-PQU but this was ntu as it was immediately acquired by the Royal Newcastle
                                           Aero Club and became VH-RNE(3).   .When sold off by the club it went to Bundaberg Light
                                           Aircraft as VH-BNF before assuming its current identity in January 1967 having been purchas-
                                           ed by 'The Firs' which, I believe was a real estate business in the Queensland Sapphire Gem-
                                           fields area.    (Hence the rego).  Still current, Ian McDonell took a photo of it (below) at Red-
                                           cliffe, Queensland in September 2009.
