VH-FNA Fokker F.27 200
Friendship
(c/n 10133)
When Greg Banfield
took the above shot of -FNA at Mascot in August 1964, this Friendship
had had radar fitted, and the black rubberized nose blends in with the
tarmac coloring on the
Sydney ramp. The photo below, from the CAHS
archives shows -FNA at Port Hedland in
Janbuary 1969. Following that in a Fokker
shot, the Hans Groen collection, the aircraft is seen
over Holland in flight testing rego PH-FBA. Like most of
Ansett
Transport Industries assets,
it had several periods of "secondment"
during its life. It worked for MacRobertson
Miller
Airlines in
1967-69 and for Air Nuigini in 1973. It
was eventually sold to that latter airline in
1976 becoming P2-ANJ. From
there it went to Brazil in 1982 as
PT-LCX and to PIA in
Pakistan in 1990 as AP-BDS.
By 2007 it was completely worn out and
was sold to the
Pakistan Navy
for spares. It was sighted at
Karachi as late as June 2007.
