VH-FMS (3)
Beech 95-B55
Baron
(c/n TC-1010)
This new Baron had been
delivered across the Pacific as N5705V, clearing Customs at Mascot
on
15 August 1966. After preparation at Bankstown for the Bush
Church Aid Society at Ceduna
SA, it was
registered VH-FMS ("Flying Medical Service") on 8
September. It is seen above two
days
later at Parafield on its delivery flight to Ceduna, in a white and
brown factory color scheme.
Photo by Geoff Goodall. The Bush Church Aid Society's
thirty years of aerial medical clinic runs
and emergency services to western South Australia communities ended two
years later when the
operation was absorbed into the RFDS. Greg Banfield
saw -FMS(3) a couple of times several
years
later as seen in the photos below. In the upper one, it
was at Bankstown in April 1978 in
a nice red and
white livery and in the lower, at Camden, NSW in April 1982.
The Baron was
last
noted semi-derelict at Ballina, NSW several years ago.
