VH-FDK (2)  Beech 95-A55 Baron                                 (c/n  TC-465)

                                      

                                          VH-FDK was the first Beech Baron to be owned by the RFDS and was registered new in July
                                          1963.      Note shorter nose of this early model as compared to latter Barons, such as VH-FDJ,
                                          for example.  The aircraft was named "Colin Yates", who was a great supporter of the RFDS in
                                          the Western Australia Eastern Goldfields section, and an authority on all aspects of automated
                                          mining.   Geoff Goodall took (at least) two photos of it:   above in December 1969 at Jandakot
                                          in RFDS titling and below at Kalgoorlie in October 1972 after its sale to Leonora Air Charter.
                                          After various other owners -FDK the second was withdrawn from use and scrapped at Albury,
                                          NSW in March of 2003, the rego then being used by a new Pilatus PC-12.    ..
