VH-FBR de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth
(c/n DHA1000)
A17-565 was the 1000th Australian-built Tiger
Moth. A war-time shot of it appears at the foot
of the
page below. It was not
civilianized until 1958. Geoff Goodall took this
shot
above at
Bathurst, NSW in September
of 1969. Greg Banfield's nice color shot below was taken at the
same
locale, albeit somewhat earlier in February 1966. -FBR was
cancelled from the
register in
1969 and sold in the
USA
as N17565 In 1974 it left the USA and went
to the UK
to become
G-BCRD. At
that time it
acquired a Canadian-style
canopy. In August of 1979 was sold in
Switzerland as HB-UPP
and has currently been
restored (sans canopy) in what appears to be
an
RAF training type
yellow/amouflage livery.
