Bankstown in 1970 was busy with Islanders arriving from the Isle of
Wight, adopting an Australian
registration and then being flown out of the country, all within a
month. VH-EQY was one such
aircraft, as seen above in David Carter's photo with enlargement of
rego below. . Registered in
August 1970, the former G-AYCD was cancelled the following month as
sold in New Zealand.
There it became ZK-DBW with Mount Cook
Airline. It was sold in June 1982 to Tabubil, PNG,
based Cloudlands Aviation as P2-FHP and crashed on July 12, 1983
nearMt Hagen. Cloudlands
was later taken over by Talair.
