VH-EMR Cessna
182
(c/n 33623)
This 182 overturned during a
forced landing a few miles north of Perth, at Brinsmead, WA on
16 October 1959,
the result of which is seen in the image above from the Geoff Goodall
collect-
ion. Originally VH-REH when
imported it became VH-EMF(2) when sold by Rex Aviation to
E.M. Fitzgerald in
March 1959. When acquired shortly afterward in June of that year
by Aerial
Missions of
Albany, WA it was reregistered -EMR. Unfortunately the
damage sustained in this
accident was worse
that it looks and the aircraft was written off.
The wrecked airframe was
acquired by the Royal Flying Doctor Service to
be used as parts and the remains were still to be
seen some four years later in a hangar at Perth Airport
