Here's VH-EBP departing the
old International Terminal at Mascot in October 1965. Photo by
Greg
Banfield. It had been in service a scant two months at that
time. In November 1972 it was
sold to TWA for
freighter duties and became N14791. The sale to TWA did not
include the engines
and these were
returned to Qantas after its arrival in Kansas City. In March
1979 it went to Air
Cargo Egypt as
SU-BBA and in 1982 it was withdrawn from use in Cairo. A
dozen years later it
was observed
being used as a restaurant at Cairo Airport and named 'The
Plane'. Early in the new
millennium
it appears to have been cut up for scrap, or 'reduced to produce' as it
was formally known.
