VH-EAB (3) Boeing
707-338C
(c/n 19622)
Built in November 1967 on
the production line immediately adjacent to its stable mate VH-EAA
the third, VH-EAB was
originally named "City of Canberra".
This was changed to "Winton"
in August 1971, as the
close-up below by Greg Banfield taken on the same day as the full shot
above, at Mascot in May 1977,
shows. Later, in November of that year it was
bedecked in
"Have a Qantastic Christmas" cabin top titling, and
was never to be repainted in full standard
Qantas livery again (see Greg's shot at the foot of the foot of the
page), since on 27 December
1977 it was sold to ITEL in Belgium as
OO-YCL. After many, many owners it eventually be-
came a E-8C (P-1) with the USAF with serial
92-3289. As such it was still active well
into
the new millennium.
