VH-DUI Piper
PA-30 Twin
Comanche
(c/n 30-830)
Flown to Australian as N7740Y, VH-DUI was registered
in July 1966. David Carter saw it at
Bankstown in
1970 in the markings of well-known charter company, Davey Air Services,
of
Dubbo. VH-DUI was in the news in September 2015 when its crew,
two brothers, were
arrested at Maryborough, Queensland, and extradited back to Western
Australia to face drug
charges.
The Twin Comanche, which was painted all white and had its
registration obscured,
was detained by authorities at Maryborough airport. It was
later sold to a Sydney buyer, then
sold again in
April 2016 to an owner at Angle Vale, South Australia.
