VH-DIL  Cessna 402                                 (c/n  402-0142)

                                     

                                           The above shot by Merv prime shows VH-DIL with Hicks Aviation at Jandakot in June 1968.
                                           Only the second 402 to be registered in Australia, (ex N4042Q) the aircraft was used by Rex
                                           Aviation initially as a demonstrator.  The photo immediately below by Dave Eyre shows it as
                                           such at Bankstown in May 1968.   Color scheme was white with black trim.  Four years later
                                           it was being operated by East Coast Airlines when Greg Banfield took the photo at the foot of
                                           the page at Mascot on 16 February 1972.    Following a couple of periods of inactive CofA
                                           in the 1970s and 80s it was finally cancelled from the register following a crash at Nagoorin,
                                           Queensland on 21 February 1983 when owned by Sunshine Air Charter of Gladstone. .
