VH-DGF Cessna 182G
Skylane
(c/n 18255755)
VH-DGF was registered in January
1965. It had been N3256S with Cessna before being shipped
to the Australian Cessna agent Rex Aviation. David Carter
photographed it at Mascot in December
1969 when it was owned by Kennett Dairies from St Marys, a western
Sydney suburb. Kennett had
its own
airstrip, which still existed in 2016, and in the late 1970s operated a
Cessna 340 twin under
the name Kennett Aviation.
By 1976 –DGF was based in the far western NSW outback town
of
Wanaaring, (definitely beyond the
black stump). -DGF was damaged on 20 January 1987, when it
overran the airstrip at Yatton,
Queensland. It was, however, not so badly
damaged as to be struck
off the register and was still current in August 2016, and is now
registered to an owner from the North
East Victorian town of Mount Beauty who acquired in in 2008.
