VH-DGB (1) Druine D.31
Turbulent
(c/n PFA/446)
This Turbulent was built by Mr. D.G.
Blinham of Sydney (hence the rego) and first registered to him
on 5 October
1960. The above shot, from the Geoff Goodall collection was taken
at Camden, NSW
in
1961. It's c/n was derived from its British Popular Flying Association
plan number. This, the first
VH-DGB had
a short life in that it crashed at Ashbridge, NSW on 18 November 1962
when it stuck
a power line
while low flying and dived into the ground. Luckily, the pilot
suffered only minor injuries.
