VH-DFJ de
Havilland
D.H.82A Tiger Moth (c/n DHA861)
A rather nondescript, but clean-looking
looking Tiger at
Moorabbin in 1958. It had just been
civilianized and still has its orange fuselage band. This was one
of the machines originally destined
for the Empire
Air Training scheme in South
Africa but diverted to the RAAF as A17-631 Its UK
serial was
to have been DX818. It is still extant on
the register today and Barry Maclean took the
photograph below at Pt. Cook in the 1990s.
