VH-CVT Cessna
172C Skyhawk
(c/n 49418)
This Skyhawk, first registered
in Australia in September 1962 (ex N1818Y) wore an attractive
Cessna factory paint scheme when Greg Banfield took
the above shot at Bankstown in March
1963. It is still
current, albeit now in a somewhat unimaginative paint job.
The contemporary
image below was taken
by Ian
McDonnell at Warnervale Airport, Newcastle, in August 2009.
Warnervale is, I understand,
currently under some sort of threat from land developers.
Turns
out the real estate that it occupies is worth a lot more
as a housing estate than it is as an airport.
This is a
common trait everywhere these days, unfortunately.
