VH-COE Yeoman YA-1 Cropmaster 250R
(c/n 105)
A very nice shot by Dave Eyre (via Geoff
Goodall) of the fifth Cropmaster at Bankstown in March
1964
with Coveair (of Kangaroo Island, SA) titling. The
aircraft had originally been registered
VH-TSD when it was with Trojan Aerial
Spraying. It was later operated by Westair
Aviation
Service
at Coonabarabran, NSW and also by Hazair Agricultural Service at Orange
before crashing
on 28
March 1986 on take-off from an ag strip near Orange due to water
contamination in the fuel
supply. Jim Hazelton, who was flying the aircraft at the
time, emerged uninjured. The Cropmaster
ended up as an
instructional airframe at Sydney Technical College.
