VH-CKO Cessna 182C Skylane
(c/n 52908)
This was the former Royal Aero Club of WA's VH-RWO,
although it had been VH-WFZ before
that.
When sold to John Collins' Air Rep Services Pty Ltd of Perth it was
re-registered -CKO
and named 'Lady Elza'. It flew
many miles for Collins delivering shopping, food and merchandise
ordered from
city stores by country folk on remote cattle and sheep properties in
the outback of WA.
After WW2 John
Collins had operated a charter and flying doctor service from
Meekatharra, WA
with Tiger
Moths and even the Short Scion VH-UTV and was widely known in the north
of the state.
In 1972 he replaced
this 182C with a DHA-3 Drover, VH-FDS.. -CKO was written off in a
crash
at Kununurra, WA in April 1976.
