VH-CGK   de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth               (c/n  DHA50/T307)

                                      

                                            This image is an enlargement from a photo of a line-up of Royal Aero Club of NSW aircraft at
                                            Mascot in 1948 from the Geoff Goodall collection. (By 1949 the club had moved to Bankstown).
                                            VH-CGK was the former A17-53 and was civilianized in March 1948 and owned by Sydney
                                            gliding pioneer Dr. G.A.M. Heydon.  He owned several Tigers, all of which were loaned to the
                                            RACNSW.  On 18 April 1950 -CGK collided with RAAF Vampire A79-484 in the circuit area. 
                                            The Vampire was being flown by DeHavilland's test pilot Brian "Black Jack" Walker, and remark-
                                            ably he and the two on board the Tiger all escaped serious injury.  The photo below is from the
