VH-CEC CAC
CA-28 Ceres B
(c/n 3)
VH-CEC was another Airfarm Associates machines delivered
new to Tamworth in 1960, and
shot on the same day
as VH-CEB by Geoff Goodall. Bob Neate's color slide
(below), taken
at Tamworth in 1966 shows
both of them together. The photo at the foot of the page was taken
during a test flight
over Port Melbourne whilst the machine was up from the nearby CAC
airfield
at Fisherman's Bend in
April 1959. VH-CEC was repaired by CAC in 1960 following an
accident
in
which it struck some trees on take-off near Scone, NSW (a fairly common
type of crop dusting
accident) and returned to
service in Tamworth. A decade later it
was withdrawn from use
and
remained in open storage
for a couple of years before going to the
Chewing Gum Field Air Museum
at Tallebudgera,
Qld. Its current status is not known
but the fuselage is reputed to be stored in a
shed along with the
wings of -CEG.
