VH-CBL Cessna 172F Skyhawk
(c/n 53310)
VH-CBL was Cheynes Beach Whaling Co's third Cessna
172 floatplane, and entered service in
February 1966 It was
formerly Rex Aviation's VH-PQX. Actually it was to have become the
second VH-CBH,
since the first aircraft bearing this rego (also a 172 seaplane) had
been sold
off, but, in
the event, was registered as -CBL. The above photo by Merv
Prime (via the Geoff
Goodall collection)
was taken on the Canning River, Perth in May 1967 after it had been
traded
in to WA Cessna
agents Simpson Aviation at Jandakot on a Cessna 337 VH-CBW.
Doug Cornwall's
shot below was taken after it lost its sea-boots.
