VH-CBC  Cessna 172C Skyhawk                              (c/n  49504)

                                 

                                     This Skyhawk was owned by the Canberra Aero Club when it was entered into the 1964 Ansett
                                     Air Race.  It was flown by L.R. Thompson.  Greg Banfield photographed it during the overnight
                                     stop at Bankstown on 29 March 1964.  Bob Neate's shot below was taken a year earlier (March
                                    1963) at Canberra.  It had come in the prior October, ex N2004Y.       -CBC is still current and
                                     privately owned at Gladstone, Queensland.
