VH-CAP Victa Airtourer 115
(c/n 59)
DCA purchased this Airtourer new in 1964. More, I
suspect, as a kind of "support your local
business" gesture rather
than any specific need. They offered it for sale in 1967 and in
March of
1968 it went to CFS Pty Ltd of
Melbourne. It later went to other owners in Western Australia.
The two images presented here
(both from the Geoff Goodall collection) show it (above) at
Cunderdin, WA in
October 1971 still in DCA livery, but bereft of that august body's
official coat
of arms/shield, and (below)
at Jandakot, WA in 1980 clad in a totally fake "private Air Force"
livery. I
especially like the Emu rampant (or was it an
Ostrich?). VH-CAP was written of in
a crash at Mundijong, WA in
March of 1983.
