VH-CAD (2) Avro 652A Anson 1
The second VH-CAD, assigned soon
after I had taken the first one (a Tiger Moth) away to
Tasmania to become
VH-BSB, was this Anson, seen above at Essendon in 1958 in this shot
by John
Hopton. It was the former AW519, and was
first registered on
22 December 1953.
The image immediately below is
from the Geoff Goodall collection and shows it awaiting its fate
in the DCA fire crew
training area at Adelaide's Parafield Airport in May
1962. At the foot of
the page is a shot
showing the mortal remains after the fire crew had had a go at it, in
September
of that same
