VH-BPQ (2) Cessna 205
(c/n 205-0175)
The 205 was
basically a 210C with a fixed undercarriage, and in some registers is
listed as a model
210-5. It
also had an extra port side door. Power
plant was a 260 hp Continental IO-470-S.
Imported by Rex Aviation as VH-RLU, this example was sold new to Bush
Pilots Airways of Cairns
in May 1964 and re-registered VH-BPQ. It is seen above at Mt.
Isa, Queensland in January 1971
in this shot by Peter
Kelly. It went on to other owners before being written off when
it crashed near
Mt.Isa on a flight to Toiwnsville
on 30 September 1982. I am not sure if the wreckage was
ever
found.
