VH-BGX de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth
(c/n DHA941/T222)
The
images above and below were both taken on the same day (27 October
1962) at
Bankstown
by Brian Baker.
VH-BGX was built for
the RAAF as A17-518.. It sustained damage at Darwin
on Christmas Day
1974, and to my
knowledge, had not flown until it recently (2010) re-appeared
as VH-DHA, sans canopy. Phil Vabre saw it as such at
an Antique Air Show in April 2010 as
seen in the shot seen at the foot
of the page. Note tight security. I should think so,
too. Much
needed at an outback NSW high
acivity field such as Griffith. Must be loads of bad guys
around
there I should think anxious to high-jack a
Tiger Moth! .
