VH-BFL as VH-HDU Avro 652A Anson 1
VH-BFL was one of Eric McIllree's
Anson overseas sales when he led a formation of Ansons
VH-BFJ, BFK
& BFL from Darwin on 12 November 1947 on delivery to the newly
formed
Cathay Pacific
Airways of Hong Kong. Cathay needed aircraft for charter
operations in Burma
and could not at
first spare their DC-3s. VH-BFL became VR-HDU and it is
seen here at
Rangoon in 1948. (Photo from Cathay Pacific Captain Charles Eather [via

book "We Flew in Burma" is highly recommended)
