VH-AVS
(1) Avro 652A Anson 1
The image above is from the Alan J. Sheppard collection and depicts the
New England Airways
Anson
'Spirit of Glenn Innes' loading at Casino, NSW, probably in the
late 1940s. The two
snapshots below were culled
from a schoolboy's photo album by
Geoff Goodall, and were evidently
taken at Kempsey, NSW in
1947. Note
pointed nose conversion, although
retaining the helmeted
cowlings for the Armstrong
Siddeley Cheetah IXs. Ex W2657,
VH-AVS was sold to Aerial
Surveys in Western
Australia and crashed at Carnamah on 7 November 1952.
