VH-ATS de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth
(c/n DHA306)
'Morris Air
Service' says the titling on the rudder of this Tiger, seen at
Bankstown, circa 1949
by
Allan Yee (via Geoff Goodall). Morris Air Service was, in
fact, a flying school. The Tiger
was previously A17-287 and
had been civilianized in September 1946. It crashed on the mud
flats at Pelican Point on the southern
side of botany Bay on 11 May 1950, and the wreck was
buried in mud and not retrieved.
