VH-ASW de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger
Moth
(c/n DHA655/T293)
This Tiger, seen at Rabual, New Guinea circa
late 50s, early 60s in this shot from the Wally Civitco collection,
appears to be a Thruxton Jackaroo conversion, or possibly a copy ot
that Tiger upgrade. has
a weird
canopy, more reminiscent of the later Thruxton Jackaroo than
the standard Canadian-
style canopy
usually found on Aussie Moths at
that time. The image below, from the Civil Aviation
Historical Society of South
Australia shows the odd canopy in greater detail.
No
details on the
blokes,
however. . VH-ASW was withdrawn from service in December
1961.
