VH-ASL (2) Piper PA-30-160 Twin Comanche B

The B model Twin Comanche had the
third cabin window on both sides and 5th/6th optional seats.
Some
had turbocharged Lycoming TIO-320 engines. This example was
delivered to Bankstown
from
the US in May 1966, ex N7879Y, and registered new in July to Aviation
Services Pty Ltd.
Parafield. . The above shot, from the Geoff
Goodall collection was taken at Warracknabeal,
Victoria
in September of that year. It had a long list of owners,
one of whom was the Royal
Victorian Aero Club, as seen in the image below by John Wheatley, taken
during a visit to Alice
Springs in the
early 1970s. VH-ASL was wrecked in an accident at Maroochydore,
Qld on
21 June 2001.
