VH-ASF de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth
(c/n 'T273')
This was
the second VH-ASF. The first Tiger to bear this rego became
VH-RVE (the second)
in
1955. This one is one of those Tigers with more or less unknown
provenance. All known
sources report its identity as T273. It was previously
registered VH-GAC, assuming the second
allocation of VH-ASF in 1958. The above shot was taken by
Geoff Goodall at Bairnsdale,
Victoria in
August 1967, when the aircraft was parked at the back of one of the
wartime concrete
blast-proof
hangars at this former WW2 RAAF airfield. Note the camouflage
still showing on the
hangar wall.
It was current into the new millennium but is no longer on the
register.
