VH-ASC (2) de
Havilland D.H.82A Tiger
Moth
c/n 134/T215
This was the former Royal Victorian Aero Club's VH-RVI the
first, which was sold off to
Airspread Australia in
1956. It
crashed at Buchan, Victoria the next year. The above
photograph
is from the Barrie
Colledge collection and was taken at Moorabbin. The
photo below was taken by
Joe
Salfass (from The Collection.p1234-2378) and shows the
remains
in the field near Buchan in
January 1957. This was actually the second
Tiger
to carry
this rego,
the first being c/n DHA441, ex A17-397 which was damaged beyond
repair
at Essendon in 1947
('twould've been rebuilt in this day and age, but in 1947 Tigers
were two a
penny).
