VH-ARO (1) de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth
(c/n DHA103)
Aircraft have always been a part of the
Australian pastoral scene, even before the intro-
duction
of spreading and spraying aerial applications. This rural scene,
from the National
Archives
of Australia shows Grazier Nigel Ross at Kanimbula
sheep station with wife
Polly Potter deplaning from VH-ARO at Holbrook NSWi in 1946. This
must have been
just
after the aircraft had been civilianized from A17-106 in October of
that year. Just
over a
year later the Tiger was exported to New Zealand as ZK-AXV.
