VH-ARO (2) Piper PA-28R-180 Cherokee
Arrow
(c/n 28R-3068)
This appropriately registered
Arrow was at Bankstown in October 1983 when the above photo
was taken by Greg Banfield.
It was registered to D. McIver, trading as McIver
Aviation. The
Arrow was a retractable u/c version of the trusted
Cherokee and sported a 180 hp Lycoming
IO-360-B1E power plant. Actually, the correct
designation of this machine should 'Cherokee
Arrow',
the 'Cherokee' appellation only being dropped with the advent of the
PA-28R-201
Arrow III. VH-ARO is still
current (in the Melbourne area) and has recently been given a new
paint job as seen in the
image below taken by George Canciani at Essendon in December 2008.
